Like many women I am constantly in search of my perfect body lotion – this leads me to change them frequently. A short while ago I was using Dove and, despite good results, my concern over their use of Parabens forced me to look for an alternative solution. I then returned to an old favourite of mine Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula. I was about to return to using the one I used to use in my late teens when I the Firming Butter caught my eye. Now, as someone who is trying to lose weight, my skin condition is a bit of a concern for me. Basically I am worried about the loose skin issue. When I saw this product I decided to give it a try. Its Paraben free.
The on the box hype reads “The unique combination of Cocoa Butter, Collagen, Elastin, and Shea Butter firms and tones while improving skin elasticity and texture. In addition Ginseng and Vitamin E help nourish and rejuvenate tired skin. Co Enzyme Q10 is an antioxidant that stimulates skin cells to tone and smooth the skin.”

Aroma:
I have always loved the smell of Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula products. The smell is usually lovely – essences of chocolate being the primary tones. It is a pleasure to apply. Now I have read other reviews of this product online and many complained the smell of this product was not as good as their over ones. They frequently complained of a fake and over-powering “plastic” smell – rather than the usual delightful chocolate aroma. Truth be told this was not my experience. True it didn’t smell as good as some of their other products but I did not detect any strong unpleasant and fake tones in the bottle I used. I found the smell to be quite pleasing overall and I had no such problems with it.
Application:
The cream goes on beautifully. When I read butter I was expecting to really have to work at having to rub it in but this was not the case. It applied nicely and it made my skin feel nice after application. You do have to massage the cream in and I imagine this is by design – this butter is for firming so some work is required on your part for best results. Massage helps to improve the skin too
Ingredients:
Despite a scarey list of ingredients I didn’t detect anything which gave me too much concern and I did my research.
Results
I wasn’t expecting miracles because toned skin is not going to come from a battle no matter what they claim. However after one month of use I do feel my skin feels firmer and smoother to the touch – I still have some issues with the skin on my thighs and tummy following my weight loss – but I am pretty impressed at the changes thus far and am giving this product a longer test now because of these results. I will continue to use over the next few months and will report my findings back to you!
Conclusion:
Overall I have been delighted with this product. Whilst the aroma is stronger than some of their other products I did not find it an issue. I actually grew to like it. Good smelling lotions make me happy and this certainly gave me a buzz whilst applying. Although I was not expecting miracles I have certainly detected improvements in my skin and will continue to try it out.
