Plus Size Maxi Dresses Spring/Summer 2012

I am absolutely delighted another season of the Maxi Dress is upon us – these dresses being immensely flattering to women of all shapes and sizes provided, of course, they chose a style which best highlights their naturally given assets! One of the great things about Maxi Dresses is their great flexibility. You can wear them as a casual garment during the day (even down to the beach) or you can jazz them up on a night with heels, few choice pieces of jewellery of, if the night air is a little chilly still, a jacket, bolero or shawl. The possibilities are endless and are only curbed by your own imagination! Keep an eye out for those Maxi Dresses which manage to incorporate some of the other Spring 2012 trends – most notably pastels, bold prints or my favourite – colour blocking!

My favourite Maxi Dresses from Yours Clothing

I absolutely adore Floral print maxi dress in shades of blue – it would be absolutely wonderful for casual dayware (or an casual evening out on holiday) when paired up with a denim jacket or bolero. Another personal favourite of mine sports the colour orange, another spring 2012 fashion trend. Its a very flattering style and would be wonderful for your spring / summer holiday wardrobe. My only real problem with the Maxi Dresses from Yours Clothing is they are simply too long – and I quite frequently have to knock several itches off the bottom – even if I account for my heels! I´m 5’4″ and have to knock around 6 inches off the hem!

I have knocked Evans in the past for their range of clothes being frequently frumpy and unflattering but this years maxi dresses have really impressed me – in fact I would go as far as to say most of my favourites this year have come from Evans. This Ice Blossom Purple Embellished Maxi Dress is one of my current dresses and is worth every penny of its £75.00 price tag (lets face it to those of us on small budgets, its not cheap). Its extremely flattering to the curvy lady and a really comfortable fit. Great for wearing day or night with just a change of accessories.

Another of my personal favourites is this Ice Blossom Border Printed Maxi Dress – again for £75.00. Its mostly black, which as we all know is exceptionally slimming, and has a hem of reds / pinks. It really is very beautiful and great for day or night time. I have plenty of maxi dresses ready for the coming holiday season purely because of this – and they take surprisingly little room up in my suitcase.
